Daisies

My daughter, Maegan, is a Daisy in Girl Scouts. So I made this one for the Girl Scout Birthday party they had. I really enjoyed this one. The center of the flowers have each of the girl's names in them. The flower in the middle is designed from the daisy patch that the girls get to earn for there uniforms. The colored sugar was just dyed sugar to get the right colors. My kids loved helping with that part. After the sugar had been on the cake, about 6 hours, it became glossy due to the moisture of the icing. So cool. 2010

Gargyll

Another WoW, World of Warcraft, cake for my bro-in-law. His character that he played was a hunter, named Gargyll, and the pet's name was, Yes Dear. 2009

Scooby and Daddy's Boat

Colby is my youngest son and loves daddy's boat. He can find any boat that is around. The "water" is the gigglers jello recipe and there are swedish fish in the water. This was made from one 1/2 sheet of cake but there was a bunch left over. So I just put his favorite dog on the top of a simple tiered cake. 2009

In the Fall

I came up with this one for a teacher that was new to the school and was going to be getting married soon or was just married. I can't remember now... hehe. 2009

Lu Bear

Trying to be simple, I think I might have over did this one, but it is still cute. I made this for my younger daughter, Talulah, that we nicknamed Lu Bear. My favorite bear on there is the one on the left, holding the Happy 1st Birthday banner. I added the butterfly to her tush... too cute! 2009

Princess Maegan

The Illuinated Princess Cake, for my daughter, Maegan's 5th birthday. I soooo LOVE this one. After sreaching for a castle cake online, I of course had to designed my own. The pillars/turrets are made of crisp rice cereal treats, tinted pink. I just rolled them out, in parchment paper, and scrunched and rolled to get them to the shape. The roof of the turrets are just sugar cones. The door is cut from the top part, for the shininess, of the cake when it was leveled. 2009

Love is in the Air

Another wedding shower cake with colors of chocolate brown and pink. 2009

A Path to Happiness

A garden wedding shower cake. I personally don't care for the orange flowers but too late... lol. Can you spot the frog? 2009

Babies Touch the World with Love

I am very very bad when it comes to writing with frosting. So decided to try word art. I think it came out fantastic. 2008

Garden Party

I love trying new elements. The theme was to be hats then transpired to a garden theme and the ladies at the gathering were to wear hats. I learned how to dye coconut after a few poorly colored batches. The best way I came up with was to, add food coloring to a little bit of water, then put it in a zip bag and shake. The next fence I did, I did it in one piece so it would stay together. 2009

Sailing on the Breeze, Sailboat Cake

Love it! Another first attempt at candy molds. The shells are made from chocolate and white chocolate swirled a tad. The land of the lighthouse was made from the cake that was leveled off. Gramham crackers where used for under the lighthouse and the base. Of course more chocolate rocks. 2009

Roses

My first attempt at roses. I was very very pleased with it.

More Than Meets the DYE. Transformers Cake

This was for my oldest son, Taylor. The kids and adults had blue dye all over. hehe 2008

Pink Little Einsteins

LOL... This one was for my daughter, Maegan, and totally designed by her. She LOVES this cake. I was for her 4th Birthday. 2008

The Pirate Ship

OH MY GOODNESS! This was for my son, Taylor. He wanted a pirate birthday. We looked and looked for a ship cake and finally decided to design our own. This was my first 3-D cake. It was made out of one 1/2 sheetcake. The "cannons" were cereal straws. The "water" was the giggler recipe for jello and of course there are gummy sharks. This cake is still talked about a lot. :) 2007

Colorful Colby Cake

I was inspired to do this cake because of the gummy animals. 2007

Under the Sea

My first tier cake. This one was for Maegan's 3rd Birthday. I wasn't for sure on how to stack it, so I just stacked it on top of each other. I learned that that is not how to do it. Lesson learned. :) 2007

Creepy Cake

2007

World of Warcraft, Taylor's birthday cake.

This was a fun one. Our family plays WoW together. I made this cake for Taylor's sixth birthday. He still talks about it. 2006

A frog in the pond.

This cake was made for some friends of mine that have their birthdays around the same time. One day I was looking online at different cakes and came across a pool cake. I saved the picture and the directions. I wanted to use it someday. Then I did this fairy cake and thought, I can make a pond and test out the "water" element. I made a thick jello and let it set up in the fridge for about 30 minites or so. so that it wasn't runny. Mean while I carved the hole out. I can't remember if I put the jello in, then I frosted the cake or the other way around. I put chocolate candy rocks in the bottom and around the sides and of course frogs because they are my favorite animal...hehe. 2006

Maegan and Marie

I made a cake for Maegan and her friend, Marie, that have their birthday on the same day.

A new element in my cake decorating.

I was helping my friend out with her son's birthday cake. I am not sure who thought of, cutting out images and laminating them to go on the cakes, but it was a fantastic idea. The sand is made out of crushed gramham crakers.

Cakes in 2005

The first few cakes.

Here are some of the cakes that I first made and thought to get pictures of.

My Beginning

I started decorating cakes about 7 or 8 years ago. A friend taught me with only one cake lesson. She had me do the work while she coached me. From then on it was all up to me to emperiment and create.
